MSgt Wayne H Smolensky

M/Sgt, Wayne H. Smolensky, U.S.A.F.(Ret), age 82, Inverness, FL passed away February 17, 2023 under the loving care of his family and Vitas Hospice.

Wayne was born in Milton, FL on August 3, 1940 to the late Alfonso Joseph Smolensky and Ruth Albritton Smolensky. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Carine Smolensky; his daughter, Stacey Engstrom, Apopka, FL; brother Michael Smolensky and wife Regina of Pensacola, FL; sister, Rita Hyland and husband Joseph of Mobile, AL; daughter in law, Katie Smolensky and her son, Jake Everett; and 4 grandchildren: Jennifer, Mitchell, Caitlyn, and Alyssa.
He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Smolensky (11/30/2021), his brother, Joseph, and a grandchild, Meagen.

There is a Celebration of Life Service scheduled for Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Bishop Dr. Doug Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery with the McDill Air Force Base Honor Guard in charge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time.
