Barbara Jane “Barbie” Anderson, 76 of Inverness, passed away December 2, 2022 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. Barbie was born in Brentwood, Tennessee on October 26, 1946, to the late John and Frances (Pitts) Watts. She came to Citrus County in 1974 from Tennessee.

Barbie retired as Curriculum Coordinator with the Citrus County School System. Over her 30 year career in education she also taught kindergarten, 2nd grade and 5th grade. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, supporting all the activities that her children participated in during their school years. Barbie supported and helped her husband, Paul, in the managing and care of the Boy Scout Camp in Inverness. She assisted the staff and helped care for all the scouts that attended throughout the years. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and Christian by faith.

Left to cherish her memory are: her husband of 54 years, Paul C. Anderson; her children: Jake Anderson of Lake Panasoffkee and Jody Anderson-Weiland of Plant City . In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Tom and John Watts.

A Celebration of Barbie’s life will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Citrus County Education Foundation.
