Helen Ruth Clayton, born Ruth Helen Williams in Whigham, GA on May 1, 1933, died October 27, 2022, at age 89.
Helen was a graduate of Leon High School in Tallahassee, FL. She was recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency, and she moved to Washington, D.C., where she met her future husband Robert Clayton.
After his tour in the USAF, they moved to Tallahassee where she helped Bob graduate from Florida State University.
They then moved to New Hampshire where she raised their three Children: Stephanie Clayton of Albuquerque, NM; Stephen (Valerie) Clayton of Gloucester, MA; and William (Robin) Clayton of Meredith, NH.
On her thirty-fifth birthday, the golf bug bit her. Helen became an avid golfer over the years playing in ladies activities at the country clubs in Walpole, Keene and Manchester, NH and at Citrus Hills in Hernando, FL.
In addition to her three children, she is survived by her husband of over 66 years, Bob; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
A service of remembrance will be held at a future date. Cremation with care arrangements provided by the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
