Hal D. Purves, 91, of Citrus Hills, Florida died October 21, 2022. He was born February 11, 1931 in Owosso Michigan to Harold and Mary Purves.
Hal graduated from Midland High School in 1948 and Central Michigan University. He married Lynn (Reemsten) in 1958. He worked for the City of Midland for 45yrs, a certified civil engineer, as the Assistant City Engineer. He also owned his own surveying business and conducted hundreds of lot surveys in the Midland area over the years.
Hal was very active in the Midland and Michigan Elks and was the Michigan State Elks President in 1993. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and sports enthusiast. He spent over 25 years as a high school referee in both football and basketball for the MHSAA.
Hal is survived by his son Terry and daughter-in-law Kate of Citrus Hills Florida. He
was preceded in death by his wife Lynn, and sisters Kay Purves and Sue Horitata.
Memorials are to be made to Hospice. Cremation and care provided by Chas E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness Florida. Burial by Ware, Smith Woolover Funeral Home, Midland, Michigan.
