Marlys Reddemann, 91 of Hernando, passed away October 5, 2022 at Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River. Marlys was born on May 8, 1931 in Gulfport, FL, to the late Jerome D. and Fern (Hatfield) Girard. She had a degree in music and English from Tennessee Temple College. She served as a linguist missionary in the Philippines and had leadership roles in the Episcopal church. Marlys worked as a secretary and attendant at the Bobbit Funeral Home in St. Petersburg. She was proud to be a Florida native. Her father was born into a pioneer family in Gulfport. Marlys was a pianist and lead youth choirs. She sang duets, solos and in choirs throughout her life. She also enjoyed gardening and loved her cats.
She is survived by daughters: Helen H. Kabat of Athens, GA; Mona H. Reineking of Bellingham, WA; brother: Howard Girard and his wife, Jean, of Ocala, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Reddemann in 2010 and her brother Robert Mark Girard.
Following cremation, Marlys will be interred at the Sunnyside Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL. Cremation with care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory,
