Mary Ann “Albano” Hoilko, 64 years of Lecanto, FL, passed away September 28, 2022, at Vitas Hospice in Lecanto. Surround by her loving family. Born in Hazleton, Pa, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary “Gregory” Albano Sr.
She attended Hazleton area schools and graduated from Hazleton High School in 1976. She was a member of with the Highlander Drum and Bugle Corps and played the Bugle.
She was self-employed both in Hazleton, PA, and Lecanto, FL. Her love of crafts earned her countless ribbons at several fairs in Pennsylvania with recognition for her achievements.
Mary Ann was active with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard Units in Hazleton, PA from 1991-2004. She served as treasurer and president of the Support and Readiness Group with Company C876 Engineer Battalion and Company A337th Engineer Battalion, where her husband was stationed before retiring after 24 ½ years. She was also a Brownie Girl Scout leader of Troop 4264 in Hazleton, under the direction of Pennswood Council. She was a past member with the Christian Women’s Society of Our Lady of Grace Church, Hazleton, PA. She organized and enjoyed helping at the fried dough stand with her family and friends at the annual St. Mauro’s Bazaar. She enjoyed playing Bingo alongside her late mother at Church Fundraisers.
She loved spending time with family and friends especially her two furry friends Jack, the cat and Candy, the golden retriever, whom are waiting for her in heaven. She had a special love for theme parks of Hershey Park, Sea World and Walt Disney World, along with cruising on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. She especially loved cheering her favorite team, The Tampa Bay Lightning.
Proceeding her in death in addition to her parents, were her grandparents; Joseph and Donata “Blasi” Albano, Vernon Gregory and Anna Yates Higgins, sister-in-law; Diane “Kolbush” Albano and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Surviving is her husband Robert J Hoilko, to whom she was married for 30 years, a 1976 graduate as well. Daughters; Sarah Marie Tallarico, Red Lion, PA, and Laura Beth Hoilko, Lecanto FL. Siblings; Donna Raffety, Tempo, PA, Twin brother Joseph Albano, Pembroke, GA and James Albano Jr., Bluffton, SC. Two Grandchildren Skylar and Nathan Small, York PA. Great Grandson Grayson Small and another on the way. Niece; Jennifer Dawson, Nephews; Terry Raffety and Jason Albano, one uncle on her father’s side and one aunt on her mother’s side, also survived by several first and second cousins.
Family and friends are invited to her viewing Monday, October 10, 2022, at 10AM-12PM, at Chas E. Davis Funeral Home, 3075 S. Florida Ave., Inverness, Fl. Funeral Service will be after the viewing. She will be laid to rest in Florida National Cemetery Thursday on October 13 at 11:30AM
