Jimmie Lee Jacks, Sr. 77 years, of Crystal River passed away at home, September 16, 2022, with his family by his side under the care of his wife and Vitas Hospice. He was born April 9, 1945 and raised in Tampa to the late Cleburne E. Jacks and Nourhelma Parrish. Jimmie married his sweetheart Sandra L. Eddy, February 18, 1967, while stationed in Charleston, SC and they traveled to many duty stations throughout the United States during his 23 year career in the United States Navy.

Jimmie was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, his family meant the world to him. He proudly served his country in the US Navy, and decided to make the Navy his career which spanned 23 years. Jim and Sandy enjoyed racing cars as a hobby while in Long Beach, CA. After retiring from the Navy, as a Master Chief in 1986, he started another career with the United States Postal Service as a mechanic retiring April 29, 2005 after 18 years. Jim and Sandy then moved to their home in Crystal River and have resided there since 2005.

He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed boating, hunting, and taking his guns for a walk. During Jim’s retirement, he loved spending time with Sandy and taking care of their home. Jimmie was meticulous with his property.

Jimmie was predeceased by his parents Cleburne E. and Nourhelma Jacks.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Sandy L. Jacks; 1 son Jimmie Lee Jacks, Jr. and his wife Maria; 1 daughter Michelle R. Jacks Cranford and her husband Ben; 2 brothers: Cleburne L. Jacks and his wife Joanne and George E. Jacks and his wife Teresa; 6 grandchildren: Michael B. Cranford, Jessica R. Cranford and her husband Mark Brooks, Rebecca Ann Cranford Hajaistron and her husband Joe, Jimmie L. Jacks, III, Justin L. Jacks, and Jennifer R. Jacks; also survived by 6 great grandchildren: Jonathan, Christopher, Alexander, Benjamin, Amanda Lyn, and Haley.

Family and friends are invited to his funeral service Sunday, September 25, 2022, at 4:00 P.M. at Chas E. Davis Funeral Home, 3075 S. Florida Ave, Inverness FL 34453, with Pastor Paul Giglio from Calvary Church officiating. Visitation will begin 2pm Sunday. Jimmie will be laid to rest Monday, September 26, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, with full military honors. His funeral will depart Chas E. Davis Funeral Home promptly at 12:15 P.M. Family and friends are also invited Monday 11am to 12 noon at the funeral.
