Lucy Valverde of Beverly Hills, Florida, formerly of Parlin, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, on her 95th birthday (1927). Married to the late Joseph A. Valverde for 71 years, they had a wonderful life together. She is survived by a daughter, Vivian Splawn (Michael) of Burlington, NC; grandson, Morgan Splawn of Nashville, TN; son, Charles Valverde and his children, Desiree and Jordan, and four grandchildren in Massachusetts; and their beloved shih tzu, Alfie.
The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers from Home Instead, VITAS Healthcare and the staff at Grand Living, Citrus Hills, FL. With the care of these organizations she was able to enjoy life and ice cream any time she wanted it. They would also like to thank special neighbors, Ronda and John, and Anne and Paul for looking after both Valverdes as if they were their own family.
There will be a graveside service in New Jersey at a later date for the couple. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Burlington NC. Arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
