David G. Chafin, 75, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 after a brief illness. Preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Jean; father Carl Chafin; mother Virginia McClain; stepfather Sam (Wayne) McClain. Survived by his daughter Tessa (Dustin) Sabo and grandson Wyatt Sabo; siblings Daryl Chafin, Carla (Chuck) Roberts, and Chris (Angela) Jester; nieces Wendy (David) Martinez, Jamie Roberts, and Cheyenne Jester; great nieces and nephews Phoenix, Carly, Destiny (Will & Liam), and David (Grace & Emma). Born on December 5, 1946 in Maetwan, West Virginia. Spent most of his life in Columbus, Ohio until he moved to Inverness, Florida in 2012. Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Employed by The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio for 34 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Buckeyes, and spending time with his family.
