Michael Lynn Coffey, 72 years, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, June 29, 2022, at home in Hernando, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Michael was born in Lima, OH, October 13, 1949 to the late Cletus John Coffey and Mildred Jordan. He married Priscilla A. Mobley in 1990.
Michael has been a resident of Citrus County since 2002. He served his country proudly in the US Navy and was a Deputy Sherriff in Lima, OH and Alachua County. He owned and operated his own landscaping and grounds maintenance company in Citrus County for 10 years, and decided to go back to law enforcement working security in several states and was a contractor for the Department of Defense in Afghanistan at age 60 where he served at the same time with his son Tracey. Michael was a loving, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, salt water fishing with his fishing buddies, and spending time with his family. He was a founding member of North Oak Baptist Church in Citrus Springs and a huge Florida Gators Football Fan.
He was predeceased by his parents Cletus John Coffey and Mildred Pierce, and his grandson Caleb, and sister, Mary Sue Walsh.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Priscilla Coffey, his brother Robert Coffey (Joan), his son Tracey Booth (Kelli), and grandchildren; Jeremy, Jacob, Joseph, Tyler, and Jadyn.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled 11am Tuesday July 19, 2022 in North Oak Baptist Church, 9324 N. Elkham Blvd Citrus Springs, FL 34433, with Pastor Stan L. Stewart officiating.. Visitation will begin 10am at the church. In lieu of flowers donations to The Gideon International, would be appreciated by the family.
