Gailen Lee Spinka, age 73, Inverness, FL passed away June 28, 2022 in Seven Rivers Hospital, Crystal River, FL Gailen was born in Reading, PA on November 10, 1948 to the late Leon and Agnes (Noll) Spinka. He was the co-owner and operator of Comfort Keepers In Home Care. He served our nation in the U.S. Army during the VietNam War. Gailen was a Leader in our Community. He was a Rotarian, a former President of Leadership Citrus, Chamber Member, former president of Suncoast Business Masters, a current President of Citrus County Continuity of Care. In 2013 he was awarded the J.L. Hassel Award and in 2014 he was awarded Administrative Excellence in Healthcare. Comfort Keepers received Chronicles BEST of the BEST WINNER this year.
He cherished his family, loved his community and would help anyone in time of need. He loved fishing, boating, working in his gardens and loved nature.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 37 years, Deborah (Powell) Spinka;1 daughter, Lindsey Ann Haller and husband Barton of Inverness; 3 sisters: Beverly Spinka, Mohrsville, PA, Donna Sayers, Daytona Beach, and Linda Messer, Fleetwood, PA; 4 grandchildren: Morgan Arthur, Aiden Haller, Madilynn Haller, and Joshua Haller and 5 great grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Gathering at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, July 9th from 4:00-6:00pm
in honor of Gailen’s memory and his contributions to our community.
Additional services for the family members will follow on Sunday at 3:00pm. This is a private tribute.
