Carol Montgomery Bouldin, 68, of Hernando, FL, passed away surrounded by her family on June 13, 2022 at the HPH Citrus Hospice House in Lecanto. Carol was born in Benton, KY on May 1, 1954 to Thomas and Carol Janet (Herndon) Montgomery, who both survived her. She lived in Herndon, Virginia from 1975 to 2010, retiring from the Central Intelligence Agency after 36 years working in data management.
Carol was lucky enough to have two great loves in her life: the first being Kenneth Johnson who passed away in 1997; and she found love again with her surviving husband and best friend, Robert “Bob” Bouldin. Carol will be forever missed by her son, Sean Johnson and his wife, Jennifer of Alexandria, VA; her stepdaughters, Amy Bouldin of Chapel Hill, NC, and Brooke Love and husband, Jayson of Willow Spring, NC. Her stepsons, Matthew Johnson and wife, Mary Catherine of Berkley, CA, and Cory Johnson of Huntington Beach, CA; her brothers, Keith Montgomery and his late wife, Julie of Wiggins, MS, and Steve Montgomery and his wife, Connie of Lexington, KY; best friend, Sheila Brautigam of Monroe, GA. Carol was “Gigi” to her grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Audrey, Abigail, Duncan, Georgia, Max, and Cole; Aunt to nieces, Ashley Johnson and her husband, David of Wiggins, MS (Trent and Addison), and Kelly Montgomery of Lexington, KY; and nephew Chad Montgomery and his wife, Mary of Nashville, TN; devoted to her kitten, Tiki, who never left her side. And countless other close friends.
Carol leaves a tremendous legacy of someone who constantly brought joy, laughter, warmth, curiosity, and endless conversation to the lives of everyone around her. Her enthusiasm and uplifting personality was contagious. Carol never met a stranger and had the ability to make anyone feel welcome. She was a fearless warrior, tackling all of life’s ups and downs, and made the best of any situation right up until the very end with her positive attitude. Carol would often be found riding on the back of she and Bob’s motorcycle, and could easily be spotted in bright, sparkly colors, sporting something with the Harley Davidson emblem, and prolific beautiful jewelry that she very likely made herself. She was the most loving and supportive mom, wife, stepmom, grandmother, sister, friend, aunt, and dollar game winner. She had numerous hobbies and passions that included scrapbooking/card-making, shopping with friends, planning motorcycle rides with Bob and friends, organizing sunset get togethers the first Sunday of each month, gardening, being a member of the New Comers group of Citrus County, meeting monthly with her Stampin’ Divas, spending time learning and exploring anything and everything, and traveling with, and to see, friends and family.
Cremation with care entrusted to Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
