Donna Helen Martin 71 years, of Inverness, passed away June 2, 2022 in Vitas Hospice, Lecanto. She was born February 19, 1951 to the late James Ernest Davenport and Leona Margaret Jones, in Flint Michigan.
Donna served her country proudly in The United States Marine Corp.
She was trained to be a chef, and attained the rank of corporal. She used her training as a chef, in civilian life, and was a chef at various nursing facilities throughout the country. Donna and her husband resided in various states and eventually settled in Inverness FL, 8 years ago. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt and enjoyed playing computer games.
She was predeceased by her husband; Walter V. Martin; her parents; James Ernest and Leona Margaret Davenport and brothers and sisters: George Davenport, Carol Davenport, James Davenport and Marion Davenport.
She leaves behind her sons; Jonny Martin and Franklin Martin, brother; Ralph Davenport (Julie) of Hernando, FL, 3 sisters; Sonja Traeger of Loveland, OH, Elma Hoffner of Flint, MI, Judy Brown of Milford, MI, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her beloved dog Toby.
Donna will be laid to rest with full military honors on December 2, 2022, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, and placed with her husband, Walter. Celebration of Life to be determined at a later date. Cremation with care under the direction of Chas E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness.
