Dorothy Mae Severe Heisner
Dorothy Heisner passed away on May 28, 2022 at The Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hernando, Florida at the age of 96. Her remains will be buried at the Florida National Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell, FL beside her husband who was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran.
She was born on December 14. 1925, in Bloomington, Illinois to Vern and Eva Fae Severe. She married William Lloyd Heisner on September 12. 1948 in Bloomington, Illinois. The Heisners lived in the Bloomington/Normal area of Illinois until 1993. They moved to Inverness, Florida in November 1993.
Mrs. Heisner worked as a secretary and record keeper for The Pantagraph a local newspaper in Bloomington, IL. She served as a secretary for two churches and for fifteen years as a secretary for the State of Illinois in the Department of Children and Family Services, the Department of Corrections, Adult Parole, and the Department of Public Aid from which she retired.
Mrs. Heisner was a Christian who loved the Lord and shared His love with others. She served as a church deaconess in both Illinois and Florida. She was an active member of Victory Baptist Church in Inverness until her health prevented her attendance.
She is survived by three nephews: Bradley Wayne (Jill) Severe of San Antonio, TX; Kurt Andrew (Joyce) Severe of Willowbrook. IL; and Douglas James Severe of Bolingbrook, IL.
Mrs. Heisner was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her only brother, Russell Wayne Severe.
Memorials may be made to Gideons International, to provide Bibles to those who need them. Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
