Deborah Jane Gillespie, 71 years, of Hernando, passed away May 7, 2022, under the care of Vitas Hospice in Lecanto. She was born January 5, 1951, in Baltimore, MD, to
Dolores Virginia (Peltz) Betz and the late John Edward Betz. Sr.
Deborah was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting, video games, her church, and she loved animals, especially her dog, Guppie.
She was predeceased by her husband, Elwood B. Gillespie; her father, John Edward Betz, Sr.; her son, Edward E. Brown, III; and her sister, Susan L. Betz.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Dolores V. Betz; brother, John E. Betz, Jr (Elaine).; sister, Beverly A. Calderon (Carlos); daughter-in-law, Elyse Brown; 2 grandchildren: Hunter Brown and Amber Shea Brown; a niece; several nephews; and many friends.
Family and friends are invited to her Celebration of Life on Friday, June 3, 2022, 12:00 Noon, at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home, 3075 S. Florida Ave. Inverness, with Rev. Ottis Barnet, from Calvary Church officiating. Visitation from 11:00 am to 12 Noon. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, Debbie’s family has asked for donations in Debbie’s name to the charity of the donor’s choice.
