Casimir J Wyzgowski

Casimir John “Casey” Wyzgowski 80, of Inverness, passed away at home under the loving care of his family on May 4, 2022. Casey was born in Peru, Illinois, on April 20, 1942, to the late Casimir C. and Regina (Goletz) Wyzgowski, and came to Citrus County in 1997 from Maryland.

Casey was a retired police detective and served his country 7 years in the United States Marine Corps. He served the Marine Security Guard Detachment American Embassy in Lagos, Nigeria 1963 – 1964, and the American Consulate General in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia 1964 – 1965. He is also a Vietnam Veteran.

He was a member of NARLEO (National Association of Retired Law Enforcement Officers). He served 24 years with the MPDC Metropolitan Police Department, Washington D.C.

Casey loved doing yard work and was a member of the UF Master Gardeners.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Wyzgowski; his God child Tracey Bacidore; Evelyn’s God child, Cade Vallero; and brother-in-law, Daniel R. Vallero.

Memorial services for Casey will be conducted on Thursday, May 19, 2022 with visitation at 11:00AM-12:00PM, and services at 12 Noon at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, with Fr. Tim Cummings, officiating.

Interment will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with Military Honors at 1:30PM. Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
