Joanna P Czubko

Joanna Pauline Czubko, 99, of Homosassa, FL passed away May 2, 2022 at her residence in Homosassa. She was born in Fremont, MI on May 29, 1922 to the late John and Catherine (Piecuch) Kutas. Joanna was a secretary at the Detroit Medical Center and Hutzel Hospital. She served our country honorably in the Women’s Army Corp (WAC), and arrived in this area in 1983 coming from Plymouth, MI. Joanna was Catholic by faith and attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa. She was also a member of the Crystal River Women’s Army Corp #78. She was preceded in death by her husband Tadeusz and her sisters Helen Kowaleski, Stella Tutak, and Louise Whiteford. Joanna is survived by sons Mark Theodore Czubko (AKA Nick Barkley) of Homosassa, and Peter Czubko of Lake Worth, FL.; brothers Edward, Joseph and Stanley Kutas; and grandchildren Vincent, Michael, and JJ. Graveside services for Joanna with Military Honors will be conducted on Thursday, May 12, 2:00 P.M. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with VFW Post 7122, Floral City, FL officiating. A procession to the cemetery will depart the funeral home at 1:15 P.M. sharp. Friends and family should arrive at the funeral prior to 1:00 P.M. Arrangements under the care of Chas. E.
