Donald D Hall

Donald D. Hall, age 88 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home in Floral City, FL on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022. He was born August 27, 1933 in LaMonte, Missouri to Norman Hall and Della Mae Brown. He was drafted and served with the United States Army in Korea. Following his service, he returned to F.W. Woolworth in St. Louis, and later worked at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI for 34 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and three brothers.
He was married to Roberta Gabel for 63 years who survives. Also survived by his sons Dennis (Kim) of Punta Gorda, FL, Bryan (Vickie) of Reed City, MI, and Kevin of Key Largo, FL, and daughter Dawn of Buffalo Grove, IL. Also surviving are Donald’s niece Karen, and nephew Bob (Tina); four grandchildren Ryan, Donnie, Hannah(Eric) and Hillary(Ben) and seven great-grandchildren.
Donald was happiest outdoors mowing the lawn, and was known for the quality of his work. He loved watching sports, time with his children, and was active in Boys Scouts, and his time with Senior Friends for Life. Donald was a member of St. Paul Lutheran in Reed City, MI and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Hernando, FL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice of Citrus County. Chas E. Davis Funeral Home was entrusted with his arrangements. A memorial service will be held in the summer at the Florida National Cemetery.
