Michael Jared Altier, April 1, 1980 – February 2, 2022. Michael Altier age 41 of Inverness, FL, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2022. He is survived by his son Michael Ashton, and daughter, Isabella Mialana. Parents, Tom and Shira Altier, brother, Tom Altier and sisters, Brenda (Altier) Griffin and Sheila Lien, along with nieces: Shira Altier, Maddy Altier and Alahana Lien; nephews, Dakota Caldwell, Dalton Ellis and Noah Lien. Michael is also survived by Barbara, the mother of his children and her son, John.
Michael graduated from Citrus High School in 1998 and joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 18. He proudly served and was an active US Federal Air Marshall at the time of his passing. He committed his entire adult life to serving our country.
Above all Michael loved his family. Nothing was more important to him than his children. He always had the biggest grin and infectious giggle. He had a passion for music, break dancing and spending his extra time with family and friends. He truly was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Friends are invited to call at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Committal services for Michael will be held on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, with military honors provided by the US Marine Corps. Those wanting to follow the procession to the cemetery should be at the Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday by 10:00 AM, as the procession will leave by 10:15 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the St. Jude All Children’s Hospital.
