Paul G Schwein

Paul George Schwein, 89, of Inverness, FL passed away on January 29, 2022 at Citrus Health and Rehab. Paul was born April 1932 in Brownstown, IN. Graduated Brownstown High School in 1951. He is predeceased by his father Paul Dewey Schwein, mother, Hattie Belle Schwein, brother Billy Joe Schwein, Billy Joe’s wife Pat, and son-in-law, Alvah Perry. Growing up on his family’s farm he spent many hours maintaining its equipment. That was the beginning of his mechanical career. If it ran on fuel he could fix it; any size, eventually huge aircraft engines. Paul could easily explain how things worked and provide step-by-step instructions for repairing them. He quickly became everyone’s “go to” man for fixing anything that needed repair.
After leaving the farm he worked a few years for Cummins Diesel. Then went on to serve 29 years with the Armed Forces of the United States; serving in the National Guard of Indiana and the U.S. Air Force, active duty and civil service. During his time of service he received several letters of recognition and appreciation.
Paul met Barbara and married in 1956 enjoying 65 happy years together making many fond memories. Left to cherish Paul’s memory are his loving wife, Barbara, his son Paul Schwein (with wife Ana and their children Paul and Gabriella), and his daughter, Dana Perry, along with nephews Steve Schwein and David Schwein, as well as his extended family of in-laws: Ruth and (Jim) Smith, John Robinson, Linda Schoenfelder, Brenda Robinson and Diane Shirley. A memorial service will held be on March 7th at 11 a.m. at Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church in Lecanto, FL, where he was an active member for over thirty years. Pastor Ray Cortese will be officiating the memorial service. Interment with honors will follow at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory in Inverness. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Seven Rivers Christian School in Lecanto, FL.
