Michael J McCarthy

Michael J. McCarthy, 82, of Hernando, FL passed away January 26, 2022 at his residence in Hernando. He was born in Detroit, MI on August 17, 1939 to the late Thomas Joseph and Agnes Grace (Bauer) McCarthy. Michael was a retired Crane Operator and member of Operating Engineers Local #324, Detroit. He graduated from Belleville High School, Belleville, MI in 1957. He served our country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. Michael was Catholic by faith, and enjoyed flying planes and going to casinos. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Daniel and Timothy; 3 sisters, Gwendolyn, Kathleen, and Elaine; and son in law Bobby Eiland. Michael is survived by his daughter Michelle Eiland and son James Entrekin; brother Christopher McCarthy; 5 grandchildren, Bo, Jake, Joey, Bobbi Rae, and Molli Beth. Michael’s urn will be laid to rest with military honors on Monday, February 7, 11:00 A.M. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. The procession to the cemetery will depart the funeral home at 10:15 A.M. Cremation arrangements under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
