Where Planning Is A Gift That Lives On
Michael W Weaver

Michael W Weaver

Michael (Mike) Wayne Weaver, 76 of Inverness, passed away at his home under the loving care of his family, on January 10, 2022. Mike was born in Big Springs, TX on May 2, 1945. He came to Citrus County in 1983 from Rockledge, FL.
Mike served our country in the Marine Corps, was a Detective for the St. Pete Police Dept for 14 years, and retired from the Citrus County Chronicle as the Press Maintenance Manager after 31 years.
Mike’s interests included, but were not limited to, raising children (50+ consecutive years of experience), fossil hunting, chocolate malted milkshakes, picking weeds, feeding squirrels, giving people “the bird”, McDonald’s breakfast, and singing “drop kick me, Jesus, through the goal posts of life!”. His disinterests were his children touching the thermostat, leaving the door open (the air is on!), the Gators, and anyone else’s driving. A natural green thumb, Mike has grown what can be argued as the biggest Staghorn known to man, as well as an unruly number of Peace Lilies. His greatest pride, however, was his children – and likely his ability to pass down the genes for the “Weaver nose” to every one of them, even the poor girls. He could always be found with a pen in his collar, a sweet tea in his hand, and a witty remark at the ready.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of over 28 years, Ellen Weaver; his sons: Stephen Weaver, Ryan Weaver; his daughters: Shannon Felicetta, Ashley Billings, Regina Capone, Paige Weaver, Kiersten Whitaker; his mother: Elizabeth Weaver; his brother: Pat Weaver; his sisters: Kristi Patterson, Kerri Nelson. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and 4 squirrels. He was preceded in death by his son, CW2 Aaron Weaver, and his father, Wayne Weaver.
A celebration of life for Mike will be conducted on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, with Cremation, Inverness, FL. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Aaron A. Weaver Chapter of the Purple Heart Association, P.O. Box 1345, Lecanto, FL 34460-1345.
