Alfred H. “Bill” Parker

Alfred Holcomb “Bill” Parker, 91, of Inverness, FL passed away on November 30th, 2021 under the care of VITAS Hospice in Lecanto, FL. He was born to the late Edward R. and Sarah E. (Mumford) Parker on April 5th, 1930 in Lyons, GA.

In 1983, he married his beloved wife, Linda L. Parker. He was a Truck Driver for over 48 years. He even owned and operated, with his wife, two Mexican Restaurants in Oklahoma. He and his wife made Citrus County their home 9 years ago when they moved from Bradenton, FL.

Bill will be remembered for being a great story teller to his children and grandchildren, for loving the Lord and his church, He loved walking on the beach and going to gospel concerts. He enjoyed playing golf and picked up the sport at the age of 80 years old.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy and by several of his brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda; his brother, Virgil Smith (Joann) of Brunswick, GA; his children, Wayne Parker (Norma Jean) of Inverness, FL; Steve Parker (Marsha) of Swansea, SC, Sandra Parker Rouse of Woodland Park, CO; Todd Parker (Tiffany) of Fort Smith, AR, Darrell Parker (Jean) of Florida; his 14 cherished grandchildren; his 25 adored great-grandchildren; and his 10 beloved great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life, held by Bill’s family, will take place on Tuesday, December 7th, 1pm, at the Hernando Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his church. Cremation with Care is under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
