Donald William Lake, 61 of Citrus Springs, passed away November 20, 2021 at the Regional Medical Center, Bayonet Point in Hudson, FL. Donald was born in Alpena, Michigan on April 6, 1960 to the late William C. and Susan (Henry) Lake, and came to Citrus County in 1999 from his native Alpena.
Donald worked for the last 16 years at the Citrus County Jail as a corrections assistant, and prior to that he worked in the health care field. Donald loved his family and friends, his beloved dogs, and the Detroit Red Wings. He also loved his tattoo, “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.” Matthew 5-9.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Kristie Lake; his children: Jordan Lake and his wife Josephine McMullen, of Canton, GA, Ethan Lake of Citrus Springs and Collin Lake of Citrus Springs; his twin brother, Hank Lake and his wife Diane, of Alpena, MI, brother, Charlie Lake and wife Joann, of Grand Blanc, MI; and his sister Nancy Thatcher, Alpena, MI.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted on Friday, November 26, at 11:00 AM, at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, with Chaplain Daniel Savage, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial to: The Citrus County Animal Shelter Building Fund.
