Peter Joseph Ricci of Inverness, FL passed away at his home while surrounded by his loving family on October 29, 2021 at the age of 86. He was born to the late Eligio and Marie (Cammerino) Ricci on May 27, 1935 in Hackensack, NJ.
Peter proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, serving in Korea. Following his military service he attended the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art in Newark, NJ. After graduation he became a commercial artist for the retail industry.
On December 17, 1977 he married Jane (Sweeney) Ricci and together they shared 43 years of loving marriage. Peter and Jane made Citrus County their home in 2000 after relocating from Virginia Beach, VA. He was a lifetime member of Hernando VFW #4252 and in his spare time he enjoyed golfing, painting and creating art. Peter also loved spending time with his family and soaking up the sun.
In addition to his wife Jane, those left to mourn Peter’s passing include his sons: Kurt Ricci, Peter Ricci and his wife Karan, Patrick Ricci, Christian Ricci; daughters: Sally Miller, Lisa Imbert and her husband Frank, Jessica Nuanes and her husband Brandon Nuanes; several grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters.
A committal service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL where full military honors will be rendered by Floral City VFW #7122 Honor Guard. Cremation care by Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
