James Joseph Baird, 63, of Beverly Hills, passed away October 12, 2021 at HPH Hospice in Lecanto. He was born on January 16, 1958 in Rockaway, NY, to the late Matthew and Eleanore (Kase) Baird and came to Citrus County in 1971 from Rockaway Beach, NY. He was employed by the Citrus County Building Department for over 25 years, his position being an Assistant Building Official. He loved to take cruises with his children and their families and restore vintage Volkswagen busses. He would always say goodbye with “if you need anything, give me a call”.
Left to cherish his memory are 3 children: Bobbie Baird and partner, Andrew, of Homosassa, FL; James Joseph Baird, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth, of Crystal River, FL ; Sarah Pearson of Colorado; 2 brothers: Matthew Baird and Walter Lober; 6 sisters: Eleanore Donahue, Rosie Gill, Rita Jane Baird, Pat Baird, Sharon Rawlings and Maureen Baird; 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Baird and a sister, Patricia Rose.
A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Baird, will be conducted on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 3:00 PM, from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. Friends are invited to fellowship with the family from 2:00 PM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to HPH Hospice, 2939 W. Gulf to Lake Hwy., Lecanto, FL 34461.
