Linda G Sword

Linda Gail Sword of Hernando, FL passed away at her home while surrounded by her loving family on October 5, 2021 at the age of 76. She was born to the late Raymond L. and Evelyn Naomi (Durrett) Briggs on July 26, 1945 in Nashville, TN. In 1966 she married Leonard Sword with whom she shared 55 years of loving marriage. Linda and Leonard made Citrus County their home in 1977 after relocating from Safety Harbor, FL. Prior to retirement, they owned and operated the H&R Block Tax Preparation offices in both Inverness and Crystal River. Linda was a Christian by faith and a member of the Inverness Church of Christ. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling and always looked forward to the annual trip she would take to North Carolina with her family. Family was so very important to Linda and she loved spending time with them. She also liked gardening, being outdoors and feeding the birds. Linda was truly loved by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity towards others.

In addition to her husband Leonard, those left to mourn Linda’s passing include her two daughters: Lesli Amato, Larissa Maloney and her husband Matt; brother, Wayne Briggs; sisters: Faye Collins, Mary Reed, Diana Tew; grandchildren: Stuart Maloney and his wife Rebecca, Savannah Maloney, Angelina Amato; and great grandchild, Reid Mason Maloney. Linda was preceded in death by two brothers: Alfred and Kenneth Vetzel.

Private services will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a later date. Cremation care by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
