Wilfred Lugo, 73, of Floral City, FL peacefully went to meet with his Lord and savior on October 1st, 2021 at his home. He was born to the late Rafael and Dolores Vega Lugo on November 26th, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY. He bravely served as a member of the United States Army and was a Viet Nam Vet. Wilfred made Citrus County his home in 1979 after moving from Bay Shore, NY. He worked for at Citrus Memorial Hospital for 26 years in Plant Maintenance.
Wilfred will be remembered for being a devoted husband for 51 years, a committed and dedicated parent, who loved being an active part in his children’s lives, church, sports and school activities. He loved fixing and tinkering with things to make them work, gardening, sports, and volunteering anywhere he could which included: Hospice of Citrus County , Fort Cooper State Park, the Citrus County Soccer and youth Baseball teams, Floral City United Methodist Church, Camp E-Nini-Hassee,the Citrus County Health Department and most recently the Brooksville Wesleyan Church.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Wendy Collazo. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kenia; his sons, Daniel Lugo and Jamie Lugo (wife Sondra); his brother, Jonathan; his sisters, Rafaela Molonini (husband Alfred) and Dolores Jablonski (husband Mike); and his four grandchildren, Maddox, Myla, Raena, and Ryker.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 9th, 2021 at 11 AM at the Brooksville Wesleyan Church, 22319 Cortez Blvd. Brooksville, FL where friends and family are welcome to gather beginning at 10 AM until the hour of service. Wilfred will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date. Cremation with Care is under the direction of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
