Mr. Richard Ross Mills was born at Barksdale Air Force Base, Shreveport, Louisiana on 10 September 1954. Richard Mills is preceded in death by his Father LTC Charlie Mills, his Mother Mrs. Jean Mills. Richard (Rick) as he was known by, traveled the world with his military family as a young boy. When his family temporarily settled in Hawaii Richard graduated high school and went on to college. He attended Hawaii Baptist Academy and graduated in 1973. From there he went to Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina and earned his BS Degree in Cinematography and History in 1978. Richard was never one to settle down in just one place after college. He continued to travel the World and used his education to film in many different countries. He was in Yugoslavia filming the war of Bosnia. He also traveled to Central and South America and used his trade in Cinematography as a War Correspondent. Richard finally came back home and found work at KNCT TV for PBS in Killeen Texas as a Producer and created many wonderful public information commercials for PBS and for the 1st Cavalry Division on Fort Hood. His work can still be seen on some affiliate stations of PBS in the Central Texas area to this day. When Richard finally came back home, he settled down and raised a small family. He is survived by his oldest son US Army SSG Christopher Mills and his wife Mrs. Samantha Mills, his other son Mr. Sean Mills and his daughter Ms. Lara Mills both from Miami Florida. He is also survived by his sister Kaaren Woods and her husband Alvin Woods that both live in Texas. It is worth mentioning that Richard treasured his three children. His two sons and his daughter were a source of pride with Richard. Richard continued his passion for reading, writing and photography until his end. He enjoyed life and shared his passions with those around him. He always brought joy and a little bit of dry humor to every situation he faced. Richard R. Mills will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew him best. Cremation care by Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
