Frances “Fran” Mastrandrea

Francesca “Fran” Mastrandrea of Inverness, FL passed away peacefully while under the care of Vitas Hospice in Lecanto on August 14, 2021 at the age of 84. She was born to the late Giuseppe and Giovanna (Palazzolo) Grillo on September 13, 1936 in Manhattan, NY. Fran made Citrus County her home in 1986 after relocating from Brooklyn, NY and was a Catholic by faith. She was a member of the Inverness American Legion Post #77 and Inverness VFW #4337 where she enjoyed singing karaoke and spending time with her friends. Fran was a former volunteer for the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office Neighborhood Watch program. She was also member of the Citrus American & Italian Social Club, Inverness Moose Club and the Civics club.

Fran is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Grillo; son, Joseph Drew; grandchildren: Stephen Schotter, Daniel Schotter, Joseph Drew, Frank Drew, Madalene Drew, Giovanna Drew-Eastman, Gail Drew; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Fran was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Domenic Mastrandrea; brothers: Fred Briguglio, Joseph Grillo, Frank Grillo; sisters: Mary Lopez, Nancy Russo, Rose Zammito, Angela Calamano, Bernadette Conticello; and grandson, Frederick Drew; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Saturday August 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness and will be conducted by Father Tim Cummings of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Friends are invited to join the family in visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Fran will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery on Monday, August 23 at 10:30 AM. The procession to the cemetery will depart from the funeral home promptly at 9:45 AM. Arrangements are under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
