Susan “Suzie” L. Bass

Susan Linn “Suzie” Bass, 76 of Floral City, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa. Suzie was born in Monroe, Michigan, on February 24, 1945 to the late George W. and Maxine A. (Linn) Canfield. She and her late husband, Wayne, came to Citrus County in 1975 from Clearwater, FL.

Suzie was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed cooking and reading. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and often could be seen enjoying breakfast at Robin’s Country Kitchen in Floral City. Suzie and Wayne opened and operated “WD’s Pub” on Highway 41 South in 1975.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: William “Bill” Bass and his wife Martha, of Floral City, Elizabeth “Libby” Jones and her husband Tad, of Floral City; her brother, David G. Canfield, Tallahassee, FL; her sister, Sara Ann August of Chula Vista, CA; 6 grandchildren: Michael, Tiffany, Stephanie and Justin Bass; Kelsey Forbus and Kaitlin Brunk; 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Wayne, on May 17, 2016, and her brother Gerald W. Canfield, in 2014.

There is a Celebration of Life scheduled for Sunday, July 11th at 1:00 PM at the Citrus County Cattleman’s Building, 11185 South Pleasant Grove Road, Floral City, FL. Family and friends cordially invited to attend.
