Eva Mae Ferguson, 84, of Inverness, passed away May 31, 2021 under the loving care of her family and Vitas Hospice in Lecanto. Eva was born on December 18, 1936 in Dunnellon, FL, to the late Josiah and Harriett (Chesser) Thompson. She was a life-long resident of Citrus County and Baptist by faith. Eva retired from Brentwood Health Care Center, after 25 years, as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Bradley J. Ferguson and his wife, Melinda of Inverness; Sheila F. Densmore and her husband Tom Jr., of Inverness; her brother, George Thompson and his wife, Arena, of Inverness; her 5 grandchildren: Christopher Blanchard, Joel Miller, Heather Martin, Ashley Newman and Tracy Ferguson Payne; 9 great grandchildren; In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Ferguson in 1985, her son, Brian in 1984, and 3 brothers, Wilbur, William, and Roland Thompson as well as her half sister, Eloise Johnson.
Graveside services will be conducted at the Oak Ridge Cemetery on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM with The Rev. Darrell Reneau, pastor of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Inverness officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may visit with the family at graveside from 10:30 until the services begin. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home is assisting the family.
