Eugenio Pinero of Beverly Hills, FL passed away while under the care of Hospice of Marion County in Ocala on May 2, 2021 at the age of 87. He was born to the late Eugenio and Adela (Zabala) Pinero on October 1, 1933 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Eugenio proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Following his military service, he became a member of the Merchant Marines and worked various jobs before going to work for the New York Transit Authority as a City Bus Driver, retiring after 20 years of service. He shared 55 years of loving marriage to his wife Teresa Pinero until her passing on December 31, 2007. Eugenio and Teresa made Citrus County their home in 1992 after relocating from Bronx, NY. He was a Christian by faith and a member of the First Hispanic Church of Citrus County in Inverness. During much of his retirement, Eugenio spent time as a missionary in Cuba and Central America. In his spare time, he liked reading and especially enjoyed auto mechanics.
Those left to mourn Eugenio’s passing include his daughter, Ivonne Rodriguez and her husband Fernando of Ocala, FL; sons: Eugenio Pinero, Jr. and his wife Priscilla of Cedar Grove, NJ, Jaime Pinero and his wife Nancy of Wyckoff, NJ; brother, David Pinero of Beverly Hills, FL; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his wife Teresa, Eugenio was preceded in death by brothers: Eugenio Pinero, Jr., Samuel Pinero; sisters: Nilza Ester, Elena Pinero, Ramona Rivera and Samuel Pinero.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness and will be conducted by his son Eugenio Pinero, Jr. and his brother, David Pinero. Following the chapel service, full military honors will be rendered by Inverness VFW #4337 Honor Guard. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
