Karen Elizabeth Lee of Inverness, FL passed away while under the loving care of her family and Vitas Hospice on March 12, 2021 at the age of 64. She was born on October 18, 1956 in Naples, FL. Karen was one of six children born to the late Jesse and Naomi Joyce (Lucas) Sanders. She had many professions throughout her lifetime but truly excelled at cooking. Karen had worked for many fine dining establishments through the years. She enjoyed decorating, making things beautiful and gardening but her all time favorite pastime was shopping. Karen absolutely loved to shop, especially for clothes and home goods. She made Citrus County her home in 2003 after relocating from Naples and was a member of the Inverness Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3992.
Those left to mourn Karen’s passing include her husband, Gary Lee of Inverness; daughters: Shannon Martin of Ocala, Karen Gail Moore of Inverness, Nicole Walker of Arcadia; brother, Larry Dale Sanders of Crystal River; sisters: Shelly Hollingshead (Mike) of Marco Island, Roxanne Vining of Dunnellon; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Karen was preceded in death by her daughter, Felicia Walker in 2014 and brothers: Steve Sanders and Greg Sanders.
