Steven W. Farmer, 79, of Floral City, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital of Inverness, FL on March 9, 2021. He was born to the late Wesley R. and Lima (Dubois) Farmer on June 8, 1941 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was an Audio Engineer for WTVJ Channel 4 (later known as NBC 6) in Miami for 35 years and he also bravely served our country as a member of the United States Air Force. He married his beloved wife, Margaret, in June of 1968 and they celebrated 52 years of marriage together before his passing. They made Citrus County their home after retirement in 2003, when they relocated from Miami.
Steve enjoyed playing guitar with his band in his younger days and he had just recently started guitar lessons to better his guitar skills. He loved old cars and was very actively involved in the restoration of his cherished 1967 GTO and his El Camino. He was very involved in car shows all over Florida, including Inverness. He and his wife also enjoyed attending the Turkey Run Car Show in Daytona, FL. He followed the Stock Market avidly, and loved vacationing in Georgia in his vacation home with his family.
Steven is preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Gary Farmer (Linda) who passed in September of 2020. Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Margaret; his two sons, Michael Farmer (Tiffani) of Louisiana and Scott Farmer (late wife, Amy) of Texas; his eight grandchildren, Stacy, Kit, Kaleb, Leo and Liana, MicKayla, Andrew, and Logan; his two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Kayla; and his sister-in-law, Patty Troutman of Floral City, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Florida National Cemetery of Bushnell, FL at a later date. Cremation with Care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
