Brenda Joyce Sheldon of Citrus Springs, FL passed away at Bay Front Seven Rivers Hospital in Crystal River on March 2, 2021 at the age of 73. She was born to the late Thadis and Lela (Francois) Brown on January 8, 1948 in Alexandria, LA. Brenda proudly served her country as a member of the United States Air Force for 12 years. On August 15, 1974 she married her husband, Bruce Sheldon with whom she happily shared 46 years of marriage. Brenda and Bruce made Florida their home 20 years ago and attended worship services at North Oak Baptist Church in Citrus Springs. She owned and operated many businesses and had many occupations after her military service. Some of those include dog training, gun safety and gun ownership responsibility courses, and working as a hairstylist and salon owner. While serving in the military she earned the title of Female Worldwide Military Power Lifting Champion, even though she weighed in at only 105 pounds!
In addition to her husband Bruce, Brenda’s passing will be mourned by her son, Brandon Sheldon.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the North Oak Baptist Church located at 9324 N. Elkcam Blvd., Citrus Springs, FL 34433. The spiritual message will be offered by Stan L. Stewart, Lead Pastor of North Oak Baptist Church. Full military honors will be rendered following the chapel service.
