Sammy A. “Sam” Williams of Lecanto, FL passed away while under the loving care of his family and Vitas Hospice, Lecanto on February 19, 2021 at the age of 73. Sam was born to the late Adolf and Jewell (Martin) Williams in Bragg City, MO on October 2, 1947. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. On December 17, 1983 he married Cynthia (White) Williams with whom he shared 38 years of loving marriage. Sam and Cynthia made Citrus County their home in 2005 after relocating from St. Louis, MO and were members of Beverly Hills VFW #10087. He was an incredibly hard worker and an avid golfer in his spare time. He also loved to ride his Harley and was a longtime member of Rolling Thunder Chapter 7.
In addition to his wife Cynthia, those left to mourn Sam’s passing include his sons: Chris Williams of Citrus Springs, FL, Jason Clark and his wife Lisa of Savannah, GA; daughter in law, Sarah Webster-Smith; and grandchildren: Hayden, Logan, Jessa, Katherine and Olivia.
Sam will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 12:30 PM with full military honors being rendered by the all Citrus County Honor Guard. Friends are invited to join the family in visitation at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness beginning at 10:30 AM on the morning of the service. A procession to the cemetery will depart from the funeral home promptly at 11:45 AM. Arrangements under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
