Marion Doris Boyd of Inverness, FL passed away at Citrus Health and Rehab in Inverness on February 19, 2021 at the age of 87. Marion was born to the late Elmer and Margaret (Schroder) Nickel on February 6, 1934 in Detroit, MI. She made Florida her home after relocating from Michigan and settled in Inverness in 2002. Marion was a Christian by faith and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness. On November 9, 1950 she married her husband, Gerald H. Den Otter with whom she shared 50 years of marriage until his passing on December 17, 2000. In 2003, Marion married her husband Raymond Boyd with whom she shared 7 years of marriage until his passing on February 12, 2010. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting and sewing. Marion’s favorite past time however, was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Those left to mourn Marion’s passing include her daughter, Diane Dooge of Inverness; sons: Dale and Douglas Den Otter, both of Inverness; grandchildren: Matthew (Lisa), Amy (Chris), Jon, Mark (Jen), Angelene, Andrew (Carly), Suzanne (Eric), Miranda; and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, Marion was preceded in death by her son in law, Neil Dooge in 2009 and brothers: Donald and Robert Nickel.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, February 27 at 11:00 AM at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness and will be conducted by Reverend Dr. Dennis R. Bennett of the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness. Friends are invited to join the family in visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Marion will be laid to rest beside her husband Gerald at Mission Hills Cemetery in Nile, MI at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
