Charles E Clay

Charles Edward Clay of Arbor Lakes, Hernando, FL passed away February 10, 2021 at Vitas Health Care in Lecanto, FL. Mr. Clay was born March 23, 1937 in Davy, West Virginia. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Inverness, FL. He loved his church family dearly.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 62 years, Wanda; his son, James Douglas “Doug” Clay and his wife Debbie; his grandson, Jared; his granddaughters, Linda Todd (Zack) and Jordan Clay; his great-granddaughter, Teagan; his sister, Vickie Malone (Steve); his brothers-in-law, Vern Jr. (Betty), Robert (Carol), Damon (Nickie), Dallas (Nina); and the entire Pigott Family. Those gone before Charles include his wonderful step-father William Blizzard and his mother, Colleena Blizzard; his father, John C. Clay; and his brothers, Ronnie and Butch (Faye).
Mr. Clay was in the United States Air Force for 8 years, where he bravely served our country. He was also a retired Executive Vice President of Bank of America and was President of North Fort Myers Rotary Club. He was also a Paul Harris Fellow in the Rotary Club. Charles was also Director of Wallace International and Past President of Florida Bankers Association. He was a graduate of the Florida School of Banking at the University of Florida. Charles was a Deacon of the North Fort Myers First Baptist Church and was a very devoted Christian who loved the Lord and his family dearly.
A Special Acknowledgement to Dr. Ralph Abadier and Dr. Vikas Kamat for their incredible care and compassion during Charles’ life.
Charles’ Celebration of Life is private and will be conducted with full military honors at the Florida National Cemetery of Bushnell, FL at a later date.
