Earnest E Meadows Sr

Earnest Eugene Meadows, Sr., 78 of Inverness, passed away February 3, 2021, at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Mr. Meadows was born October 1, 1942 in Stotesbury, West Virginia, to the late Roy O. and Millie (Blevins) Meadows. He was a US Army Veteran and retired industrial welder.

Earnest was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, where one of his favorite things was to give a gift to every child at every service. They knew to find “Pop” when they came through the door. His family was his greatest joy, he loved them all. He also enjoyed reading war books and studying the history of war.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Nina Meadows; his son, Earnest Meadows, Jr., of Dunnellon, FL; his daughters: Lorie Bloxton and her husband, Jerry, of Inverness, Kina Hoffman of Dunnellon; his brother, Roy Meadows and his wife, Lou, of Maryland; his sisters: Eva Pritchett of Virginia, Charlotte Walton and her husband Jimmy, of Pennsylvania, Beverly Surber and her husband Mike, of Virginia; his 5 grandchildren: Kelli (Ryan) Derryberry, of Brooksville, FL, Mark (Emily) Bloxton of Georgia, James Shaw of Dunnellon, Justan (Lynn) Shaw of Pennsylvania, Vance Meadows of Maryland; his 5 great grandchildren: Max Bloxton, Memphis Bloxton, Paislee Bloxton, Jaxon Shaw and Wesley Shaw. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Meadows, son in law, Doug and brother in law, Charles Pritchett.

Private graveside services with Military Honors, will be conducted at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Arrangements are under the care of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness.
