James Wellman

James Wellman left us January 28, 2021 to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born October 16, 1943 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Joseph S. D’Onofrio and Gladys M. Wellman. He was a dedicated Army Veteran who served three tours in Vietnam!! In 1980, he moved his beloved family from Hollywood, FL to Citrus County. Mr. Wellman worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for twenty-five years with Citrus County. When Mr. Wellman did anything, it was with a loving and compassionate heart. He loved being with his family, going fishing, Bar-B-Ques, riding his motorcycles, he was an avid gun collector, and loved going to church to serve his Heavenly Father.
Mr. James Wellman is preceded in death by his two loving wives, Hedy Patricia 64-95 and Sally Ann 96-2016; his two sons, Ralph I and Ralph II; his two step-sons, Gregory and Timothy; his two step-daughters, Cathy and Brenda. Also preceded in death by his loving parents, Ralph and Gladys Crabtree and one sister, Anne King.
Mr. Wellman is survived by his three sons, Jeffery Wellman of Missouri, James (Blanca) Wellman of Crystal River, and Jessie Lee of Homosassa, FL; his three daughters, Donna VanAuken (Alan) of Hernando, FL, Carolyn Brown of Hernando, FL, and Kelly Wellman (James) of Hernando, FL; his two step-daughters, Lori of Bellview and Marcia of Illinois; and two step-sons Denny and John; one step-brother, Sheridan Crabtree; also survived by 22 loving grandbabies and 14 great-grandbabies who he cherished and loved very much.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery of Bushnell, FL where full military honors will be rendered. A gathering of family and friends at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home will begin at 12:45 PM until 1:15 PM, where a procession will then leave for the cemetery. James will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery following the services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
