Francis R. “Dick” Troy

Francis Richard “Dick” Troy of Inverness, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital on January 24, 2021 at the age of 87. Dick was born to the late Edward J. and Velma (Scahill) Troy in Port Huron, MI on November 28, 1933.

He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Following his military service, he went on to work as a Tool Grinder for Mueller Brass, retiring after 38 years. On September 15, 1962 he married Mary Jane (Wheelihan) with whom he shared 58 years of loving marriage. Dick and Jane made Citrus County their home in 1997 after relocating from Port Huron, MI.

He was a Catholic by faith and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness. In his spare time he loved to play golf and go fishing. He also enjoyed watching all sports on television. Dick formerly coached football at St. Stephens Catholic School in Port Huron, MI.

In addition to his loving wife Jane, those left to mourn Francis’ passing include his son, Michael Richard Troy and his wife Rene of Port Huron, MI; daughter, Michele Troy-Berberian and her husband Christopher of Fort Gratiot, MI; brother, James; sisters: Joan, Margaret and Mary; grandsons: Nathan (Jillian) Troy, Tyler Berberian, Ian Berberian; and great granddaughter, Adaline Troy.
