Where Planning Is A Gift That Lives On

Patsy A Beitz

Patsy Ann Beitz of Inverness, FL passed away on January 19, 2021. Patsy was born to the late Clyde W. and Bertha Montgomery on March 24, 1935 in Bay City, Michigan. She was fun-loving and always spoke fondly of her childhood spent diving off the docks of Lake Huron to impress the tourists. She married Kenneth Beitz, her late husband and high school sweetheart, in 1954. She and her beloved “Kenny” settled in Clio, Michigan and had three children of whom she was incredibly proud. After working as a secretary in a doctor’s office for many years, Patsy spent her retirement working at the historical Crossroads Village in Flint, Michigan. Dressed in turn of the century fashion, she crocheted and taught visitors about history. In 2013, she and Kenneth decided to make the move to Florida, and Inverness became their home.
Patsy was an especially sweet spirit and was adored by her family and friends. She showed her love for her 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren through cooking and baking, camping and traveling, and being genuinely kind and affectionate. Patsy loved reading, shopping and playing games. She was a softy for animals and was known to take in a stray or two over the years. Most of all, Patsy was inseparable from her husband of 66 years. She and Kenny were truly best friends. “Grandma Pat and Grandpa Red” were a beautiful example of love and devotion.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Beitz on February 15, 2020. She is also preceded in death by her two brothers, Wade and Jake Montgomery; and her sister, Jeanette Gibbs. Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Daniel K. Beitz of Rochester Hills, Michigan; Gina Atkin and husband Jeff of Inverness, Florida; and Pamela Worthing and husband Steven of Clover SC; her two sisters Joyce Klenow and Karen Curtis; her five grandchildren, Stephanie McPherson, Angela Dolan, Eric Dolan, Steven Worthing Jr, and Shawn Worthing; and her 10 great-grandchildren, Grace, Lucas, Alayna, Jackson, Kellan, June, Janie, Mac, Calleigh and Jace.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 4 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL. A gathering of friends and family will begin at 3:30 PM until the hour of service. Patsy will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery of Bushnell, FL alongside her husband, Kenneth, at a later date. Cremation with Care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
