Frances K Leahy

Frances Katherine Leahy of Floral City, FL passed away at her home on January 18, 2021 at the age of 78. Fran was born in Ridley Park, PA to the late Francis and Rebecca (Dougherty) Lambs on June 9, 1942. She was employed by the Coca Cola Bottling Company for over 10 years as a Bookkeeper. She made Citrus County her home 18 years ago after relocating from Clearwater, FL. Fran was Catholic by faith and a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness. While residing in Clearwater, she provided housekeeping services for St. Cecelia Catholic Church. Fran was a member and the bugler for Floral City VFW #7122 for over 17 years. She honored many Veterans over the years with her support and participation in the Honor Guard. Fran loved working for and with Veterans. In her spare time she enjoyed being with her friends at the VFW.

Those left to mourn Fran’s passing include her daughters: Rebecca Leahy of Chattanooga,TN and Margaret “Meg” McKenzie of Hudson, FL, ; sons: Sean Francis Leahy and his wife Lu of Gardena, CA, Albert D. Leahy Jr. of Floral City, FL; sisters: Joanne Lambs and Mary La Mastra; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Merrihue on April 19, 2016, brother, Daniel Lambs and Albert Donald Leahy, Fran’s first husband of 19 years

A Celebration of Fran’s Life is scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 1 PM at Floral City VFW #7122. She will be laid to rest privately alongside her husband Robert at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Cremation care by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL. In lieu of Flowers, it was Fran’s wish that any donations be made in her memory to the VFW Post and Auxiliary of 7122. (8191 S. Florida Ave. Floral City, FL 34436)
