Sherry Earline Butler, age 82, of Beverly Hills, FL passed away January 16, 2021 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. Sherry was born in Eureka, KS on August 22, 1938 to the late Earl and Phoebe (Fry) Buffington and moved to this area in 1975 from St. Petersburg, FL. She and her late husband, Fred Knoffloch, owned and operated the Roscow Insurance Agency for many years prior to his death.
Sherry was a member of the Hills Church of Beverly Hills. She was a champion skeet shooter, enjoyed playing golf, a member of the Noble Ladies of the Shrine, a supporter of the 4H Clubs, the VFW Auxiliary, a volunteer for Hospice for over 5 years, a member of the Elks Auxiliary and the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Fred Knoffloch in 1982, Preston “Pete” Butler in 2001, and by her companion, Raymond Albright in 2017. Left to cherish her memory are her step-children: Preston Lee “Lee” Butler, Jr. and his wife, Colleen, of Winter Springs, FL; Barbara Brotherton; and Sandra Morgan and her husband, David, of Dade City; her brother, Buff Buffington and his wife Pam; her sister, Linda Schlup; her four cherished step-grandchildren: Erica, Chris, Tommy and Kenny, Jr; Her niece Trisha, nephews Travis Trey and Tyson. Along with many step-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Sherry’s life will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 10:00 AM, at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, FL with Reverend Phil Horn, officiating. Burial will follow at the Lake Lindsey Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Vitas Hospice, P.O. Box 1330, Lecanto, FL 34460.
