Samuel Glen Armstrong of Inverness, FL passed away on January 12, 2021 at the age of 51. He was born to the late Harold Armstrong and Leila (Blakeslee) Armstrong on July 2, 1969 in Jamestown, NY and graduated from Randolph Central High School. He was a corrections officer for many years and was very proud to be involved in law enforcement. He made Citrus County his home three years ago after moving from Randolph, New York.
Sam enjoyed caretaking the Whispering Pines City Park and being with the people he worked with. He also loved riding motorcycles and adored his church, Calvary Chapel of Inverness, and church family dearly, always looking for ways to get involved. He was very involved in his church’s Christmas play, where Sam held the role of playing an elderly man. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and traveling the world. Sam was a big people person and made friends wherever he went. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and help others in need.
Along with his father, Harold, he is preceded in death by his sister, Susan Lea Armstrong. Those left to cherish Sam’s memory are his mother, Leila, of Randolph, NY; his brothers, Harold Armstrong (Karen) of Randolph, NY, Kenneth Armstrong (Kellie) of Randolph, NY, and Christopher Armstrong (Ellie) of Sayerville, NJ; his sister, Annette Church (Mark) of Otto, NY; and many adored friends.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, January 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Calvary Chapel of Inverness. Pastor Kevin Ballard is officiating. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Samuel will be laid to rest in New York, beside his father, at a later date. Cremation with Care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
