Reverend Vincent George Marchese of Floral City, FL, passed away while under the loving care of his family and VITAS Hospice, Lecanto, on January 3, 2021 at the age of 90. Up until a few days before his passing, he had lived a healthy and independent life. Vincent was born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Vincent James Marchese and Minnie Gertrude (Gilleo) Durbin. He has been married to his loving wife, Ruth (Olsen) Marchese, for more than 50 years. Vincent and Ruth made Citrus County their home 22 years ago after relocating from Babylon, NY. Vincent was an ordained Assemblies of God minister for the majority of his life and last pastored Babylon Assembly of God church. Locally, he and his wife were members of First Church of God in Inverness. Vincent also provided ministerial services to Sanctuary Mission, Bushnell, an organization providing assistance to those who have been released from incarceration and are rebuilding their lives. In his spare time, he most enjoyed fishing and bowling.
In addition to his wife Ruth, those left to mourn Vincent’s passing include his son, David Marchese and his wife Ruth of Cary, NC; daughters: Miriam Trimmer and her husband Michael of Chino, CA, Amy Fox of Chino, CA; grandchildren: Will, Michael & Samantha, Mark & Angelica, Emma, Christiana; great grandchildren: Archer and Theodore. Vincent was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Grace (Dove), who died at the age of 39 in 1969. His two brothers have also passed: Francis and William.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness and will be conducted by Pastor David McCane of the Inverness First Church of God. Friends are invited to join the family in visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Vincent will be cremated. His remains will be laid to rest, at a future time, with his surviving and devoted wife, Ruth.
