Kristi Lee Hardgrove of Crystal River, FL passed away while under the loving care of her family and Vitas Hospice in Lecanto on January 2, 2021 at the age of 57. Kristi was born to Sally Ann (Everett) and the late Edward Rudolph Metzger on October 28, 1963 in Bath, ME. She made Crystal River her home 5 years ago after relocating from Connecticut. Kristi was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked in healthcare. She was an extremely loving and caring individual and was a dedicated and kind caregiver to many of those who had no one to care for them in their later years. She truly loved others and was very generous with her time and her actions. Even though she was in failing health, over the Thanksgiving holiday, Kristi cooked a prepared a full Thanksgiving feast and proceeded to contact her neighbors and personally share plates of food with those who needed it. That was just the kind of caring and loving person she was. Her generosity was one of her outstanding traits. When she wasn’t taking care of others, in her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Prior to moving to Florida, Kristi loved spending time on the Connecticut River with her family.
Those left to mourn Kristi’s passing include her sons: Sean Hardgrove and his wife Heidi of Higganum, CT, Joshua Hardgrove and his wife Jamie of Agawam, MA, Ryan Hardgrove and his significant other, Jamie Talbot of Higganum, CT; mother, Sally Metzger of Hernando, FL; brother, Dan Metzger of Maryland; grandchildren: Paisley, Michael, Sadie, Harper, Noah, Skylar, Vayda and Braxtyn. Kristi was preceded in death by her father, Edward Metzger in 2012, and her sister, Kerri Metzger in 2001. Cremation care by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, Fl.
