Helen Catherine Bauer of Inverness, FL passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital on October 1, 2020 at the age of 80. Helen was born in Baltimore, MD on May 13, 1940 to the late Charles and Lillian (Rhodes) Scott). She was extremely bright and earned several college degrees in her lifetime. Helen worked as a Material Handling Specialist for General Electric for 17 years before going on to earn a degree in nursing and begin a career as a Registered Nurse. She made Citrus County her home 5 years ago after relocating from Pasadena, MD. Helen was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and a member of their Divine Mercy Rosary group. She followed politics closely and had 4 letters written by her published in the Citrus Chronicle. She was extremely charitable and a loving mother to her children.
Those left to mourn Helen’s passing include her sons: Michael Toomey and his wife Nona of Inverness, FL, Ralph Toomey and his wife Debbie of Jarrettsville, MD; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bauer; and two grandchildren: Ariel Toomey and Michael Toomey.
A Memorial Mass for Helen will be offered on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 2:00 PM from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness. Cremation care by the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
