William F. Shannon, 80, of Inverness, FL passed away at his home on September 3rd, 2020. William was born to Walter and Julia (Meeker) Shannon on October 26th, 1939 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He made Inverness his home in 2005 when he relocated from Juno Beach, FL. He honorably served our great country as a member of the United States Army and, for the majority of his life, he worked as an ornamental plasterer.
William loved spending time with his family and was loved by all who knew him. He is described as a “Jack of all trades” and he would absolutely help anyone who needed help. He was a great dad and a fantastic grandfather and great-grandfather.
William was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Ronald Shannon. Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Shirley, whom he joined in loving marriage in 1964; his two children, Edward (Tracy) Shannon of Stewart, FL and Denise (Dean) Hardy of Riviera Beach, FL; his brother, Walter “Butch” Shannon; his two sisters, Patricia Julian and Sandra Greene; three grandchildren: Troy Shannon, Tyler Shannon and Chelsy Hunter; six great-grandchildren and one soon-to-be great-grandchild.
Private arrangements have been scheduled for William. Cremation with Care is under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness, FL.
